Mercury’s new 15/20 hp EFI FourStroke, with a new multifunction tiller handle, is designed for 15/20 hp EFI models and can be configured for right- or left-hand use.

Mercury’s new multifunction tiller handle gives the outboard range improved ergonomic control. This lightweight, portable outboard platform starts at just 45 kg and is 5 kg lighter than the platform it replaces.

Mercury’s new outboards are designed for all recreational boats and commercial users. They feature battery-free EFI for fast, reliable starting, immediate throttle response and overall improved performance, and are among the lightest on the market. This in turn delivers better acceleration, top speed and manoeuvrability, together with exceptionally good fuel economy.

Like all Mercury FourStrokes, the new 15/20 hp EFI models are designed to make maintenance as simple as possible. Their clean, drip- and spill-free oil drain system, freshwater flush adapter, water-separating fuel filter and maintenance guide under the cowl make them some of the most user-friendly outboards on the water today.

Perhaps the most exciting new feature Mercury has developed for the new 15/20 hp EFI FourStroke platform is its adaptable tiller handle. Traditionally, tiller handles are mounted on the port side of outboard engines for left-hand use. However, Mercury Marine’s user survey showed that a large proportion of boat owners prefer to operate the tiller with their right hand.

For boats with fixed seats and tiller steering, the tiller handle can now be positioned in the most suitable way for operating the outboard. Using hand tools, boat owners can adjust the tiller’s horizontal angle up to 18° off-centre to port or starboard, in 6-degree increments.
